Brampton Center MP Ramesh Sangha has been removed from the Liberal Caucus.

Former lawyer, first elected in 2015, Sangha now sits as an independent.

His office was informed last week that Sanga had filed “unfounded and dangerous” accusations against many of his colleagues, according to a statement by the government’s in-hospital secretary, Mark Holland.

“We’ve made it clear so many times that we don’t tolerate conspiracy theories or dangerous and unfounded rhetoric about MPs and other Canadians,” the statement said. “Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for many Canadians to experience suspicion because of their background. We all know where this can lead.”

The Netherlands said Sanga was removed Monday afternoon after the whip consulted with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

CBC News has contacted Sanga’s office but has not yet received a response.
